Very spacious Starbucks with an attached book store. It is the most lively cafe in the area, and I frequently come here to get some work done. Would recommend.

Starbucks Toyooka – My Usual Weekend Stop This is the only Starbucks in Toyooka, and over time, it’s become one of my regular weekend spots. The café is beautifully designed and located inside a bookstore, which makes it a great place to relax, read, or get some work done. When I come alone, I like to sit at the long counter by the big windows overlooking the street. It’s set up like a working station, with power outlets for laptops and devices — super convenient. In Toyooka, it’s actually hard to find a place that serves hot cappuccinos. Most local cafés focus on drip coffee or café au lait (Japanese-style milk coffee). So while Starbucks may not offer the best coffee in the world, the quality here is consistent — and that matters. What keeps me coming back, though, is the staff. One barista even remembers my usual order, and when I once forgot my reusable Starbucks cup, she gently asked, “So you want a grande instead of tall today since you didn’t bring your favorite cup?” She smiled, and that small moment made me feel really taken care of. That’s why this place made it to my personal favorite list — and why I keep returning every weekend.

We had a 1.5hr layover in Toyooka on our journey over to Miyazu from Kinosaki Onsen. We had to switch to the Kyoto line so we opted to wander town where we came across this Starbucks which is located inside a large book store. We spent an hour here having a drink and snack while enjoying the amazing atmosphere. You also get free wifi so depending on your plan while travelling this could be a good stop.

You can walk here from Toyoka Sta. for a five-minute. Good staff. And you easily get fast free WiFi with no login. It has a book store and you can find strange English books on the upper shelf maybe for just a decoration. I got a good break. You should come and break when using the Sanin line, lol.
